MODBUS Temperature, humidity and Barometric Pressure Transmitters


Available from Audon Electronics are a range of low cost temperature, humidity and barometric pressure sensors with an RS485 output. These units can communicate via a simple ASCII "Adam 4000 series" compatible protocol or the industry standard MODBUS RTU protocol for use with common SCADA software.

Measured temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure are converted to serial output with a RS485 interface. Transmitters are available in wall-mount, duct-mount and bar types. Also, types with T+RH probe on a cable are available.

They featuring a large dual line LCD for local display of temperature, humidity, pressure or other calculated value and the microprocessor design ensures maximum long term stability and fail indication.

The transmitter works with ModBus RTU communication protocol or with ADAM compatible ASCII protocol. The protocol is user selectable in special configuration mode by means of the PC.

Economical Ethernet Temperature/Humidity email Alarm


The HWg-STE web thermometer is an Ethernet based two channel alarm unit configured using a built-in web server. The HWg-STE web thermometer is configured using a built-in web server which can also show the current temperature (and humidity). If the temperature (or humidity) exceeds a specified threshold, an e-mail alert is sent. The HWg-STE Thermometer is also fully SNMP compatible. Free windows software HWg-PDMS for datalogging, graphical overview and MS Excel export is included.

DataNet Wireless Data Acquisition System


The DataNet is a professional wireless data acquisition system using the Zigbee wireless protocol. Consisting of a USB base station, DataNet acquisition units, repeater units and the DataNet PC Suite logging software. The acquisition units have 4 inputs for direct measurement of PT-100, thermocouple, voltage 4-20mA, frequency and pulse. There is also a version with the addition of built-in temperature and humidity sensors.

Data can be stored in internal memory, or streamed to a central PC running the DataNet software for recording, charting and display. Data can be displayed in tabular or chart formats or the user can display a plant mimic with data overlaid. Logged data can be exported to a spreadsheet for further analyses. The software also enables you to configure, calibrate or update the firmware of DataNet units wirelessly.

Low Cost Wireless temp/Humidity Logging


The TL Series is a wireless temperature and humidity logging system based on a USB based receiver base station and up to 50 remotely located transmitters. The TL series is suitable for a wide range of uses in both industrial and domestic applications. Over fifty wireless sensors can be installed and monitored by the USB base station and the included temperature logger software enables the monitoring and analysis of all the sensors separately.

The TL-300 is the entry level receiver whilst the TL-500 has stand alone data logging capability with 2Meg of built-in memory. There are several wireless sensors in the range covering indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity. The sensor range will be expended over time, with a CO2 sensor due out next. The sensors can be located up to 40m from the receiver and use the licence exempt 433Mhz radio band.

The easy to use Software presents the temperature measurements with time and date graphically. The Software keeps track of the data over several years and will log data (in the background) as long as your computer is running.

The logged measurements can be exported in several formats for further processing. The package includes a screensaver that dynamically displays the actual temperature for each sensor. An additional feature, when the software is installed, is Messenger software that enables temperature messages to be sent by email and to be published on a website. With an email-to-SMS service it is therefore possible to receive information from the temperature logger system on an SMS enabled device.

Available as starter kits which include either the TL-300 or TL-500 receiver, 2 wireless sensors, USB lead and software CD. Prices start from £56 ex VAT and delivery.

Ethernet based Environmental Monitor sends email Alarms


The Poseidon 3268 is a simple Ethernet based stand-alone device which can send an email alarm when up to 4 monitored temperature or humidity sensors exceeds their defined range. The Poseidon 3266 also has 4 contact-closure inputs which can be used to trigger alarms on state change and there are 2 relay outputs which can be used to reset servers, or switch on a fan, etc.

Temperature or combined temperature/humidity sensors can be connected via RJ11 cable using the 1-wire protocol. Sensors are simply connected in a serial chain using RJ11 cable. These can be up to 10m away from the Poseidon 3268.
You can assign a name to each sensor and also define high and low alarm limits. When the parameter goes outside these limits, the Poseidon 3266 can send user defined email alarm messages and toggle the output relays.

Once the Poseidon 3268 is connected to the LAN, you can run the free UDP setup utility, which will search the LAN to find all attached devices. You can then specify your desired Network address parameters. Once this is done, you can simply access the I/O data from a web browser. There is also a flash-based version.

All sensor's values as well as alarm status information are available from XML files (temper.xml) and any application can log it from XML tags. The Poseidon 3268 also supports the Modbus/TCP protocol, so it is easy to integrate with common SCADA packages such as DAQFactory.

Typical applications include monitoring conditions in server rooms, switch-boards, cold-storage buildings, freezers and fridges and other environmental monitoring tasks.
