Replace your Relay Logic with low-cost mini PLC

The xLogic SuperRelay is a compact and expandable CPU replacing mini PLCs, multiple timers, relays and counters. The xLogic SuperRelay perfectly fits in the space between timing relays and a low-end PLC's. The ELC-18 range is the advanced level model, incorporating a good mix of digital and analogue I/O, clock with calender, counters, timers, LCD, keypad and an expansion port. Easy to configure either using the LCD and keypad or with drag-and-drop functions blocks using the FREE ELCSoft software.

xLogic SuperRelay is a compact and expandable industrial computer ideal for replacing older PLCs, multiple timers, counters and traditional relay logic.

The xLogic SuperRelay is available in 120V/240V AC or 24V DC versions, making it the ideal solution for relay replacement, or simple control applications as building and parking lot lighting, managing automatic lighting, access control, watering systems, pump control, ventilation systems, home automation and a wide field of other applications demanding low cost to be a primary design issue.

Available with a common mix of digital input, digital output, analogue input, PWM output, high speed pulse counting, Real time clock and time switch functions. The ELC-18 range offer a 4-line LCD display and keypad for program modification and display and control whilst the program is running. An expansion port allows the connection of up to 31 expansion modules, extending the I/O channel count and adding Ethernet and SMS text communication capabilities.

PLC runs BASIC and Ladder

The CUSB range from Audon Electronics are low-cost open-frame PLCs based on the CuBloc core processor running both BASIC and Ladder-logic programs.

There are 3 models in the range, CUSB-22R, CUSB-30R and the CUSB36R. These DIN-rail mount PLC's have a different mix of I/O, but all have mains relay outputs, opto-inputs, analogue inputs, PWM outputs, counter/timers, simple connections to a LCD and keypad and two RS232 ports. These can be easily reconverted for RS485 multi-drop use and the CUSB can be programmed for use as both MODBUS master or slave.

The CUSB PLCs use the FREE CublocStudio application for program development. With CuBlocStudio you can write your BASIC and/or Ladder programs, simulate and de-bug and download to the CUSB PLC. CuBlocStudio has Ladder logic monitor and Time Chart tools to help with debugging.

The CUSB PLC can handle a wide variety of small to big applications while using only a fraction of the space of a full-size controller at a fraction of the price.

EMB MEGA32 AVR Single Board Computer Board

Available from Audon Electronics is the EMBMEGA32 embedded microcontroller board based on ATMEGA32 AVR microcontroller family. It is low cost and flexible, making it ideal as an embedded controller for industrial, automation, security and process control applications.

The board has 32 digital I/O ports, a mini buzzer, reset switch and one RS232 port. It also has a serial 256k EEPROM and a battery backed DS1307 real time clock. The board has a LCD connector for common character LCD modules, together with a contrast pot, power supply and current limit resister for LCD backlight. The EMBMEGA32 also has 8 x 10-bit analogue inputs for measuring real world signals.

All ports on the board are connected to IDC connectors and analogue input connections are also available using screw terminals. A range of relay and opto-input expansion boards simply plug-in to the IDC connectors. DC and stepper motor control expansion boards are also available. The EMBMEGA32 board measuring only 82mm x 82mm is a two-layer design intended for demanding industrial applications.

The board provides a standard 10-pin in-system programmer header for connection to a wide variety of AVR ISP programmers. Compatible with the Atmel AVR Studio Assembler and the BASCOM Basic Complier. BASCOM is an easy to use but powerful Basic complier for the Atmel AVR RISC processors as used in the Audon range of Single Board Computers and PLC-style embedded computer boards. It greatly simplifies program development with a feature-rich list of BASIC commands, has built-in simulation and programming tools. A 4k code limited version of BASCOM can be freely downloaded from the Audon Electronics website.
